Your answer should be 750-1000 words long (3-4 pages), and should include the citation of various examples from both novels (i.e. citing three quotations per novel, and writing down the page numbers, where the quotations are printed, in each novel). • Analytical papers must be 3-4 pages long (Works Cited page is extra). • They should be coherent, organized, and well written. Students must support their analysis with ample textual evidence. • The analysis must also take into account the texts in their entirety, that is to say, it is not enough to cite one or two examples from the first pages of the work; analysis must demonstrate the students’ grasp of the entire text. • All pages must be numbered; use regular font (font size: 12; font type: Times Roman or Courier). • Works cited list must be appended at the end even if the only source students are using is the assigned textbook. • Papers are submitted online. • Each paper must have an appropriate title that sheds light on the theme and analysis that will ensue. • Grading analytical and research papers is rigid, and the expectations are much higher than writing short assignments or journal entries. • You must follow the MLA style guide. If necessary, you can use the APA or the Chicago style guide.
